About the Teacher-Librarian

Mr. McFeely

Hello, and welcome to the Hamilton Heights Library! My name is Craig McFeely, and I am in my 12th year as the Teacher-Librarian, and 8th year as a Head Teacher here at Hamilton Heights. I grew up in a small town about an hour outside of Pittsburgh, so yes, I am a Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan! I attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Education with Pennsylvania teaching certification as a Library Media Specialist grades K-12. I earned my Master's degree in Education in technology, also from Clarion University, and I also have earned my K-12 Principal certification from Point Park University.

I served on the Board of Directors of PSLA (Pennsylvania School Librarians Association), which is responsible for helping to run the business of the association. I have presented several times at the PSLA annual conference.

My educational philosophy includes no grandiose illusions or visions that have me changing the world as we know it. My hope and desire is to set out each day with the intent of making a difference in the lives of my students. If I can make a positive impact on even one student, then I have succeeded. I may not change the world, but I may have impacted a small part of those students’ lives; which is all I have ever wanted to accomplish.

Some of my hobbies include playing golf, and spending time with my family and friends.

I have an older brother and sister; they live back in my hometown, as do my parents.

I am looking forward to another great year, and I hope you are as well!  Thank you for checking out my website!

Respectfully,

Craig McFeely, B.S.Ed., M.Ed
